New Years...Going Big

(Camilla and Marc Salon Jacket)
This lovely little jacket just arrived at Dressing Room. Only ordered one (for myself of course). Didn't really know who else in Louisville would be loving it as much as me, but I am in love. Wearing this with sequin mini shorts for New Years. I am very much pleased with my selections. Photos to follow. Happy New Years!

Moet X 10 = This Picture

(Frankie, Joey, Sarah, Jac, Me, Natalie)
This was girl's night out to El Mundo, which led to Prime, which led to Joey bringing out a jumbo size bottle of Moet. All things combined equaled for a lovely time out and about. I of course left for NYC the next morning and was struggling a bit, but the Pumpernickle margs were so worth it.

Holiday Fun!

(Me- shoes: YSL, leggings: American Apparel, top: T by Alexander Wang, Hoodie: Jet, Jacket: Alexander Wang. JacJac- shoes:Jessica Simpson, skirt: Camilla and Marc, top: See by Chloe, jacket: Urban Outfitters)
This pic was taken by the Voice-Tribune at our Fat Friday Trolley Hop Holiday Party! Whew! That is a mouthful. Between the petit fours, cheese tort, and all the champagne...I was a very happy girl. Dressing Room was packed and we listened to Diana Krall Christmas (a fav) and had a fabulous time! Thanks to all who joined us in celebrating our first Christmas!

Quite the Experience

(dress- Elizabeth and James, shoes- YSL)
My hairdresser and one of my best friends Sarah T asked me to be her model in a hair photo shoot for her salon a couple months ago. I was hesitant to say the least, especially since I had to let her dye my hair beforehand. Not being one who favors alot of hair upkeep or one who has the disillusion that they are "model material", I decided to do it anyway. Of course I decided to drag Nat into the scheme with me and she was Aaron's model. We got up super early, picked up champagne and headed into a very long day. Three hours for hair alone almost sent me over the edge. But, we had alot of fun and even though I look nothing like me in these photos, I kinda dig them. Enjoy!

The 8th Floor aka Heaven

(Christian Louboutin)
OK, so before leaving for NYC I posted the lovely Louboutins I found on Net-a-Porter....well, they were replaced when I tried this on at the 8th floor of Saks. My lovely fiance and love of my life was so kind as to let these fabulous little numbers be my Christmas present! Um...I die. Pictures of me in them to come shortly.

I Knew I Was Red Carpet Bound

(Coat- vintage, suede pants- TopShop, shoes- Chanel, top- LNA)
This pic is outside The Plaza where we were lucky enough to get to stay! Thanks Judi! This was well into the evening and several glasses of Pinot in clearly. We decided to have a small photo shoot on the red carpet. It really does just make for a great pic. This is my new favorite vintage fur. I am pretty sure that for the last two weeks, every picture of me is in this mama.

Patagucci...The New Cool Thing

We were in NYC this past weekend and Erin decided to snap this little pic. I am carrying around Josh's Patagonia coat...now known as "The Patagucci" according to our forever clad fleece men. We decided that my YSL bag was so sicked out by the thought of having the coat inside of it, that it pucked it back out. One of those moments. Good times.

I Am Officially Being Tortured

(Christian Louboutin)
So...it's that time of the year again when all the new fabulous shoes are coming out and I am trying to be good and not go totally broke from my slight shoe addiction. Was on net-a-porter today and found these fabulous little numbers. I mean get serious...these are to die for and I just happen to be going to NYC on Thursday and Saks shoe department and me have a date. I am hoping these are there. I don't think I am going to be able to say no to them.

While The Husband's Away...There Will Be A Dance Party

(Me: shirt- vintage, jacket- Target, jeans- Hudson)
So, Natalie's husband Adam was away this past month on his "Away Rotation" for med school and we did alot of champagne drinking and sushi eating. Needless to say...we had alot of fabulous fun between Gossip Girl Mondays and dance parties. This is a pic from our last party before the hubby returned. Natalie tricked it out with yummy food and we drank more champagne then I care to admit to. Love you guys!

Power Play

(Alexander McQueen)
This might be the most rad clutch I have ever come across. You don't even need jewelry with this Swarovski crystal-embellished number. Found it on Net-a-Porter today and of course it is already sold out. I am on the wish list and crossing my fingers I get my hands on one. I die.

Magic Man

So Julie made friends with Al the bartender last time she visited The Cove. So...of course this past trip I was thrilled to meet this man. He has 12 gold teeth, 11 children, and does magic tricks at the bar. If you can't figure out the trick (which we never have figured out one) you have to take a shot. Not really sure where we lose in this whole scheme. Our home away from home is better than ever even if we did have to go with men this past time. haha! love to j and r!

Vegas Time!

(David, Kate, Jason, Me: sequin jacket: Madison Marcus, purse: Chanel)
A couple weeks ago we all went out for Vegas In The Ville sponsored by Sophisticated Living. Party was fab and the mini burgers and popcorn made me really happy. This is a pic of me with my fiance Jason and two of my favs! The jacket made it's first appearance and I thought it was quite fitting with the theme. What says Vegas better than a little sequin?

New York Diary

(Voice Tribune article)
Jac and I were very lucky this year and got to attend New York Fashion Week. We died. It was super amazing and one of our local publications let us write our own article about the experience. The article is basically a diary of our trip from start to finish. We had so much fun writing it and even more fun being there!

All I Need Is My White Fur Coat

(Phillip Lim)
Now that the weather is semi cold I am on the search for a perfect pair of leather gloves. Harder to find than you would anticipate. Found these on Elle.com and fell head over heels. This light teal blue is one of my favorite colors ever and goes with anything. The studs just make it even more fabulous. Might have to happen.

Must Have

(Rebecca Minkoff)
We carry this line at our store and I am dying over these new bags! Think I might need to order a few for the store. Let me know if any of you would like one too! So fab! Corey found these online and I literally die. Who doesn't need a posh leather bag to carry bread and wine? I do!

The 70's Will Never Die

(Ostrich-feather cape, Ralph Lauren Collection)
I die over this entire look. I want this cape so very badly. The pink is not a bad touch with it I must say. Take me back. Pretty please

Sometimes Life Is Just Not Fair

(Miranda Kerr, LeFashion)
OK, so not only is she a supermodel and uber chic, she stole Orlando Bloom right from underneath me...bitch. Actually as much as we love to hate her she is just kinda cool and understated. Which now that I think about it is also really annoying. OK, so maybe I will just love to hate her.

Take Me Back

I have been a bit absent from the blogging scene for the past week but, for good reason. I am the luckiest ever because I have been in Nassau with my two fav people....Jason and Julie. The pics above are of this standard spot we always visit, The Travelers Rest. Julie and I took Jason here on our last day. We put it down with the likes of fresh grouper, peas and rice, mac and cheese, (no corn though haha), cole slaw, warm bread with the the best salt/sweet French butter etc. I die. I want to be there right now. Take me home.

The Last Bash

(Julie, Jac, Nat, Me: sweater- vintage, shorts- Alexander McQueen, scarf- vintage, shades- Gucci)
Sadly enough, Jac and I are selling our condo on St. James. It has been a good run and this past weekend was the annual St. James Art Fair. So...of course we had to throw one last soiree and did just that. Champagne all day mixed with Julie's homemade white chili was the perfect combo and I was in heaven. The court will never be the same without the crew around. At least we have made our mark and know our legend will live on.

Miss Lauren Ladies and Gentlemen

(Lauren posing on what I think is a fire escape somewhere in NYC)
Lauren is one of our bestest that moved away to the big city for FIT. Missing her action alot, I perused her photos yesterday and came across this lovely one. She is probably one of the most photogenic people I know and I literally die over how insane her check bones look in this picture. I love you but, I hate you. JK. Miss you and can't wait to see you!

Told You Big Is Always Better

(Milan, The Sartorialist)
Once again I was browsing through The Sartorialist and came upon this FABULOUS being in this over the top big shirt dress. I know a lot of women are totally against the oversize look because they feel pregnant blah blah. But, I say whatever if your legs look like this and your heels are over 5 inches. I am now on a mad hunt to find this and wear it asap. She is shutting it down.

So Very French Of Us

(Jac- shades: RayBan, tee: Alexander Wang, sweater: Jamison. Me- shades: Gucci, top: Elizabeth and James)
This is a pic my mom snapped while having yummy brunch outside at one of our favs La Maison. Sometimes we can be a bit boring because whenever we are in the city we tend to frequent the same spots. But, this is a must if not for the cheese board, then most definitely for the French onion soup.

GenArt at The Met

(Me- shorts: warehouse sale find, tights: American Apparel, shoes: Chanel, fur sweater: vintage. Jac- top: find that day at Saks, boots: Marc Jacobs, bag: Miu Miu)
This is a bit of a blurry shot taken at the GenArt Fashion Show at the Met. Lots of flashes and crazy lighting does not make for a clear photo apparently. One of the designers we carry at Dressing Room, Min Young Lee, was chosen among seven other designers as new and upcoming in the fashion world. And, was given the exciting opportunity to show during Fashion Week. This was the first show we attended upon arrival and had such a great time! Congrats Min!

The Insanity Of It All

(Marchesa Show Spring 2010, Chelsea Art Museum)
As mentioned in previous posts, Jac and I were so thrilled to be invited to attend the absolutely amazing Marchesa show. These are a few of my favorite pieces from the show. Kinda hard to explain through words so, I will let the pictures and dresses speak for themselves. Enjoy!

Street Savvy

(Giavonna before the Armani show, Milano. The Sartorialist)
The Sartorialist is one of my top five fashion blogs. Making it on this site is a huge honor in the world of fashion and one of my dreams in life. Needless to say, I browse about 5 times a day. This morning I was blown away by this picture of Giovanna. It struck me in such a way, that I am having a hard time explaining what it is that I love so much. I think it may just be the entire thing all together. From the perfect touch of red in the clutch to the bubble skirt to the statement necklace to the perfect backdrop and "toe in pose" on a motorcycle, I just want to be there with her. Wonder what she is typing on her Ipod? Something like..."Oh! What I'm I doing? Just being fabulous outside the Armani show, lounging on my bike in my heels". I die.

Burberry Glam

(Burberry Prorsum Spring 2010 RTW)
From Gwyneth to Mary-Kate, all ages were represented at the London runway show for Burberry Prorsum. Christopher Bailey is officially a genius and I literally die over every single piece. Burberry gone glam is so very right. I of course am I huge fan of the classic Burberry and could never part with my oh so sophisticated Burberry trench but, I am loving the fresh new twist on the iconic coat that has represented the brand for ages. I am also loving all the draping and this gold mini is just perfect. Also, I will be wearing the bare leg, gray scrunched socks with platforms look this season. Love.

Marchesa Madness

(Jac- sweater: vintage, skirt: Alexander Wang, Sarah, Me- dress: Camilla and Marc, bag: Yves Saint Laurent)
Our lovely friend Sarah was a doll and got us tickets to the Marchesa show at the Chelsea Art Museum. As she put it, the tickets are like gold dust. We were so very excited to see all the couture gowns and had so much fun gushing over every piece and all the Louboutins designed just for the show. Gift bags weren't to shabby either. Thanks Sarah!

Fashion Toast Knock Off

(Dress: Camilla and Marc Spring 2011, boots: Fendi)
Jac and I just got back from Fashion Week in NYC, which is why I haven't blogged in a couple. We managed to fit in a few showroom appointments in between shows, eating, and shopping. Thank God we did because this yummy LBD I am sporting in this pic was given to me on loan for the Marchesa show from Camilla and Marc's new Spring line. No worries, I ordered one for myself. Thank you Jefferey for your trust in my ability to not ruin the dress before returning. Marchesa show was ridiculous and the Moet was a lovely touch. After the show Jac decided we should have a mini photo shoot around the city. These are a few of the shots she took. Rumi makes it look so easy on FashionToast. PS...not easy.

I Finally Did It.

(Miss Sixty)
So, Jac and I were having our morning shopping/phone convo perusing ruelala, ideali, gilt, etc. Well we happened to stumble on to Zappos (not a usual destination) but, I am super glad because I just bought these fab little booties. I have not bought a pair of shoes in I don't know how long. Trying to be good and save. However, I felt that these were a must have and I can't wait to wear them to fashion week!

Winter White

(Helmut Lang)
Julie found this on Net-a-Porter the other day and I am kinda obsessed. I want to just sleep in this shearling dream. I am trying to talk Julie into buying it. Kinda a must. I have taken the approach that it is an "investment" piece that she will have forever and ever. Keep you posted on how this progresses. Love!

Never Above You, Never Below You, Always Beside You

(Julie and me at the Daiquiri stand)
Clearly, this is our favorite place on earth. We frequent this little gem for hours a day and it just never is boring. I believe we sat in this window for a good 2 hours or so. Met lots of new friends of course and had our standard watermelon concoctions, no syrup please!

It's Always A Party

(Sarah H: skirt- vintage, top: E&J. Sarah I: dress- Marchesa. Lesa (mom): dress- E&J, shoes- Gucci. JacJac: pantsuit- Robert Rodriguez, shoes- Prada. Lauren: dress- T by Alexander Wang. Julie: dress- Madison Marcus, shoes- Alexander Wang. Me: dress- Alexander Wang, shoes- Gucci. Natalie: dress- Nicholas K.
This is our red carpet picture from Saturday night at "Best Dressed". I have to say that I am quite pleased with how it turned out. No one has a crazy lazy eye or dumbfounded look at their face. All in all, a success. We had such a fabulous time and I know I am bias but, we were the best looking crew in that place. Love to all my lovelies!

Going Modern For My Man

(Elle Decor)
Jason and I are getting ready to purchase our first house. Very, very exciting. For all of you who have been to my condo on St. James, you know it is a bit intense. Think girl pad times 10 plus lots and lots of just things. Jac and I have had a slight problem over the years letting go of items. I think Jason is a bit scared that our new house is going to resemble the same aesthetic but, I have reassured him I am now oh so grown up and taking the transition into big girl land. Therefore, I am going modern. This is my inspiration for our bedroom and Jason's office. LOVE the all black high gloss walls. Quite sexy. This is only the start, stay tuned.

Kiss Kiss

(Sarah- dress: Marchesa, Natalie- dress: Nicholas K, Sarah Hester- top: E&J, skirt: vintage, Me- dress: Alexander Wang, Julie: dress- Madison Marcus, Mom- dress- E&J)
This past Saturday we all jazzed it out and took quite a crew to Louisville's "Best Dressed" Event. Dressing Room was a presenting sponsor and our looks walked the runway so, we had to represent! This is after the event, when we of course found our way to the hotel bar...big surprise. I am not sure about my kissy face but, I am sporting this look in quite a few pics from the night. Who knows?! Had such a fab time with everyone!

Dinner Train

(Me and Jason)
Our posse have started this fabulous new event every other Sunday called the "Dinner Club". When it's your turn, you have to rock it out and make the most dank dinner ever and supply everything. We all show up at whoever is hosting for the evening with different liquor and eat our faces off. Such a good idea. This is a pic from the most recent Dinner Train stop. Julie hosted and it might have been the most amazing Italian spread I have been a part of. Between the homemade lasagna and the fondue mixed with Baily's, I had a minor meltdown. Not to mention, the fondue came with many sides, my fav being the Pepperidge Farm chocolate sticks. Not even right. I drank alot of white wine...shout out to Judi!

Roy: Rad As Ever

(Rachel Rachel Roy)
One of my favorite designers in the world, Rachel Roy, has recently started a lower priced line called, Rachel Rachel Roy. I could not be more pumped for this diversion into more affordable pieces designed by her. The line is available at Macy's and I am so going to purchase this faux fur vest. So PC of me I know.

Big Just Got Better

(Me, Natalie, Julie, Jacqueline)
We kinda have this new must do on Sundays. Julie let us in on the secret that her Big Springs minimum needed a little help and of course we came to the rescue. This might be my new fav place to lounge in Louisville. You never have to move and the champagne just keeps coming. Big is bigger and better than ever since our crew decided to pop by. Just sayin.
